Me-Made-May: Day 2

Today for the Me-Made-May challenge, I wore my Sorbetto top with a suit.  With this, I’ve technically met my challenge for the week (I said I would wear 2 items each work week).  But I will probably wear something me made again this week anyway.

Forgive the tired look in the photo, I didn’t have a chance to get a picture until after a very long day at work.  😦

I really like my red Sorbetto.  It’s one of the first garments I made.  And I wear it fairly regularly.  It’s made out of a really soft cotton lawn, with a dainty little cream flower print.  I made my own bias tape, out of the same fabric.  The bias tape wasn’t difficult to make, but it did take a long time.  Probably because I don’t have a bias tape maker.  Instead I used a pin and my ironing board, a method I read about here.

My favorite thing about this top is the center pleat:

In fact, I like this top so much, I am planning to make another out of this printed cotton swiss dot fabric:

Hopefully I will get it finished in time to wear before the end of the month!
